The Committee

The 1st London Toastmasters Club is managed by a committee composed of volunteers and every June a new committee is elected to run the club.

President

Mirna is the enthusiastic President of 1st London Toastmasters. With a background in consultancy and a current role in fintech, she brings structure, warmth, and contagious energy to the club. For Mirna, Toastmasters isn’t really about public speaking—that’s just the by-product. The real mission is to help shy underdogs become brave. She believes it’s not about being perfect; it’s about being present. Whether your voice trembles or your knees shake, the most important thing is showing up.

Her favourite quote captures this beautifully:
“Every single day, no matter what’s going on in your life, your only job is to get up and lay the next brick.” — Will Smith

Vice President of Education
Vice President of Public Relations

Magdalena joined the club in 2023 to mainly focus on her unprompted public speaking skills. Serving as a VPPR she follows her passion for visual communication by creating content for the club’s social media and by overseeing various communication channels. She focuses on the club’s visibility to ensure maximum outreach and promotes individual members’ achievements and talents, hoping that they will be an inspiration to others.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Treasurer

Himanee joined 1st London Toastmasters to become more articulate and clear in expressing her thoughts and emotions during public speaking. What started as a personal goal quickly turned into a meaningful journey, thanks to the club’s supportive environment, diverse voices, and inspiring members. She was deeply moved by the energy and encouragement within the club, which led her to take on a greater role as part of the committee.
As Treasurer, Himanee brings her background as an accountant and her enthusiasm for the club’s mission to everything she does. She’s passionate about giving back to the community and excited to support the club behind the scenes—making sure everything runs smoothly, sustainably, and with heart.

“In tough times, don’t ask ‘Why me?’—stand tall and say ‘Try me.’” –  Himanee Anthwal .
